We’re the drivers of our own lives, and boy, doesn’t it feel like a really long ride sometimes? On bad days, tedium, self-doubt, helplessness may join you along for the ride, and that’s when you know you need to get out of the car for a bit and practice some self-care.
Self-care is an action-oriented way to love ourselves. By including tiny, achievable self-care rituals into your life, you will be able to recalibrate and get back into the driver’s seat with confidence. Here’s what we like to do when we need to practice some self-care.
Nourish the tummy and soul
Nourishment is the first step in any self-care, so it’s important to not just feed ourselves, but do it well. Luckily, it’s easy to access a range of fresh food in Singapore, be it from wet markets, supermarkets, or online grocery stores. The myriad of recipes online also makes it easy for us to whip up a delicious and healthy meal for ourselves whenever we feel the need to!
Sweat out the excess
Among the four founders, we love hitting the gym, box and studio and more for a wicked sweat-wicking session. Obviously, we need fun in our workouts because we love high-energy ones such as Bounce, Spin, Lifting and Crossfit! Yoga is a way of life for one of us and is possibly one of the best ways to sweat it out with intentions.
Yes, just one word. Not overindulge, just indulge. You’ve worked hard, and you deserve the reward. Sometimes, a simple acknowledgement like that is what you need. You are what you tell yourself, and we’re saying that you deserve all the good things you want to get in your life.
Put on a scent
A scent can conjure up good memories and positive scenes. Scents/essential oils such as Palo Santo, Chamomile, Rosemary, Lemon Oil, Sage, Neroli and Peppermint are popular mood-boosting scents to have in the room.
Dress in comfortable clothes (like activewear!)
