April traditionally marks Spring in temperate countries, and it’s usually a joyful and hopeful season everywhere else. We start off the month on 1 Apr with practical jokes before segueing into hopeful observances such as World Health Day on 7 Apr and Earth Day on 22 Apr.
Earth Day is widely recognised as the largest secular observance globally, marked by more than a billion people every year as a day of action to change human behaviour and create policy changes on multiple levels: global, national and local.
On a smaller scale at IMALA, we recognise that our efforts are minuscule compared to what more prominent brands have the resources to do. But we also believe in small collective efforts making big impact.
You’ll notice that we operate on minimal packaging. Instead of plastic bags, our stocks are hand-packed into reusable laundry bags. Future plans are also in the works to develop/use more sustainable options for our activewear. While we’re still learning how to do better and ultimately reduce the amount of waste we produce, it’s important to us that we don’t stop trying.
It’s tiny steps in the direction that matters, and we hope you can join us on this journey.
